Hi Rob, Once you have finished editing in the box you have to scroll down to see the "Save Page", "Show Preview" and "Show changes". Immediately above that you see a box labelled "Summary". You should type a short summary of the changes you made in that and it gets saved and added to the update. 
Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (<nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>); or by clicking on the http://wiki.hmssurprise.org/skins/common/images/button_sig.png icon above the editing window, this will automatically produce your name and the date.
