Cacafuego (Sp: "shit fire") is the nickname of a historical Spanish galleon Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, which her crew referred to as "Cagafuego" or "fire shitter".

The 32-gun xebec that Aubrey attacks and captures as commander of the 14-gun Sophie may have simply been named Cacafuego, the name widely used for the historic ship by non-Spanish speakers.
