Citation: tromba marina
Language: Latin
References: The Nutmeg of Consolation, page 98
Meaning: lit.: marine trumpet

Notes:

In fact, not any sort of trumpet at all, but a stringed instrument. The origin of the name is both obscure and disputed, but seems likely to derive from the instrument's distinctive tone.
