Citation: vous l'avez voulu, George Dandin
Language: French
References: The Thirteen-Gun Salute, page 176
Meaning: you asked for it, George Dandin

Notes:

From Molière's Georges Dandin, ou le Mari Confondu of 1668. The peasant Dandin marries above his station and, cuckolded out of his pretty young wife, repeatedly mutters this phrase. Italian has become a way of saying, 'you've only got yourself to blame for what you're complaining about'.
