This wikiPOBian has some small experience sailing tall ships and reading statistical and instructional manuals, contemporary and otherwise, of the same. His primary area of specialization is in military history, operating on the Hobbesian -- and, coincidentally, anti-Clausewitzian -- theory that all politics is the continuation of Warre by other means.
His stilted prose is a personal affection, properly looked upon as a pleasant source of private joy and not as pompous pedantry. It is rarely so properly viewed.
